Leading maritime credit risk reporting firm Ocean Intelligence (OI) has strengthened its team with the addition of Christopher Morgan as Senior Analyst and Operations Manager in Europe.
In his new role, Morgan will spearhead credit analysis reporting for the European sector, researching and performing credit assessment on companies in the global marine and transportation industry.
He will also provide credit advice to OI's worldwide customer base.
Based in the UK, he will be tasked with driving operations, sales and marketing, product development and analyst training for Europe, in addition to his analysis role.
''With the global credit squeeze forcing the marine and transportation industry to unprecedented levels of transparency, we see expanding global business opportunities with intelligence and counter-party risk aversion becoming critical to doing business for bunker suppliers, ship owners/operators, financiers, traders and insurers,'' said Adam Dupré, managing director of OI.
Prior to his new role, Morgan was Commercial Aviation and Shipping Business Analyst at Lloyd's Marine Intelligence Unit (LMIU) for five years, where he worked closely with shipping firms, bunker suppliers, brokers, traders airlines and media publications.
''With Chris on board, we will be even better positioned to seize prospective growth and fortify our expertise through his in-depth knowledge in the transport sector and sharp analytical skills on credit reporting,'' said Dupré.
Morgan holds a degree in Maritime Business and Maritime Law from the Institute of Maritime Studies, University of Plymouth in UK.
